DIY Softer and Fuller Lip Tricks

Softer & Fuller Lip Tricks

It’s time to talk a little at home beauty and how you can make your kisser, a little more kissable, your pout a little poutier, and your, well, you get the picture. You want great lips!! So I’ve dug up the best DIY beauty tricks for a softer and fuller lip, plus a couple of easy cheat products. Keep reading and get ready to pucker up:)

Why DIY for Softer, Fuller Lips?

Well, first off there is nothing wrong with finding a product at a beauty or department store other works for you.

But what I love about at-home beauty is that these methods are usually natural, holistic ways to achieve your desired outcome. With all of the chemicals we are already exposed to in our world I like to incorporate stuff that is chemical free as much as possible.

I also tend to search for tricks that are easy, require just a hand full of ingredients, and don’t take a lot of time or money. Surprisingly, many beauty DIYs, are comprised of things you already have in your pantry or cabinet.

But back to those lips. We as women have basically made it our mission in life to try every trick, short of voodoo and sacrificial rituals, to look like our most radiant. It’s no different when it comes to our lips.

We gloss them, shimmer them, matte them, and paint on an array of colors depending on the season. And who can blame us, our lips are a prominent feature on our face so why wouldn’t we want them to stand out in the best way.

In order to keep them looking fresh and full there are a few things we need to do. But, don’t worry, I like to make everything as easy as possible.

Keeping it simple.

Even if you have a minimal make-up routine, chances are you still pay some attention to making your lips pretty.

Whether you are a lipstick, lip gloss, or chapstick kind of girl, no one wants dry, cracked lips, and most of us would kill for Angelina Jolie’s full pout.

With that being said let’s take a gander at what we can do at home to get softer and fuller lips with just a few easy tips.

DIY Softer and Fuller Lip Tricks

Exfoliating

The best trick for soft lips is exfoliating on a regular basis. Once per week is a good rule of thumb, because you don’t want to over exfoliate. One of the best ways to get into the habit is to designate a self-care night. For example, Sunday nights usually work best for me to spend a little extra time plucking my eye brows, putting on a face mask, and exfoliating.

Here are a few easy ways you can exfoliate your lips at home to keep them looking and feeling super soft.

Honey + Sugar Lip Scrub

This is the easiest DIY lip scrub because it contains only 2 ingredients that are likely already in your pantry. It is a natural way to get rid of those dead skin cells and to hydrate your lips.

Ingredients:

Directions:

Coffee Infused Lip Scrub

With only 3 ingredients this lip scrub is still a pretty easy one to mix up. Its also perfect for the coffee addicts out there (like myself) because it smells amaaaazing!

Ingredients:

Directions:

Cheater Product

If you’d rather grab a beauty product off the “shelf” versus whipping one up at home because, lets face it, life can be busy and sometimes its just easier, then the vanilla lip scrub by Beauty by Earth is a good one to get. Plus you can order it through your Amazon account which is the best way to shop in my opinion. Just ask my husband 😉

Its all natural and made in the USA. In fact, its safe enough to eat, although I don’t recommend it even though you may want to after smelling it.

A few more tips for softer lips:

Plump it Up

I only wish I had full, pouty lips. My lips are fine, I’m not complaining, but I see some of those women with naturally (for all I know) plump lips and I get a little green with envy because they are so pretty!

So instead of going to get some chemical injected (which scares me), there are a few methods that can help to give all of us who are lacking in lip size a little bit of a natural boost.

Use a Toothbrush

I would say every person reading this has ownership of a toothbrush so it is pretty much the easiest method out there to give your lips a little fuller look. The toothbrush also helps to exfoliate.

Directions:

Vaseline & Cinnamon Lip Plumper

This fuller lip recipe is a bit flexible so that you can use what you have on hand at home. Vaseline is a great base to start with, however, you can also use coconut oil, or your favorite lip balm. Cinnamon oil gets the best result for this method but you can use cinnamon powder instead if that’s what you have.

Ingredients:

Directions:

Potent Plumper

Now I thought this was genius. It comes from My Awesome Beauty and is a DIY recipe for a lip plumper concoction that you can easily apply like a chapstick.

It basically contains a few ingredients that all work to give you fuller lips such as, cinnamon oil, clove oil, and cayenne powder. Head on over to this link to get the full recipe and directions.

Cheater Product

I’m all about a deal with it comes to beauty products and you get just that with the e.l.f. Lip Primer and Plumper. It goes on like a lipstick to make your lips fuller and keep your lip color in place. At just $4 it’s a steal. Additionally, it is backed by many beauty experts as a quality product for a bargain price.

One more fuller lip trick:

Moisturize

The last of our softer and fuller lip tricks is certainly not the least. It’s time to apply some lip balm. Keeping your lips moisturized is soooo important. Try and be vigilant about drinking plenty of water to hydrate from the inside, and use a lip moisturizer that has natural ingredients to hydrate from the outside.

DIY Beeswax + Coconut Oil Lip Balm

With just two main ingredients this recipe is super easy. You can add in an essential oil of your choice for added benefit. Homemade lip balm also makes a great addition to a gift. Come to think of it you could pair it with a homemade lip scrub and a homemade lip plumping balm to make an amazing gift that any woman would love to get.

Cheater Product

I love the idea of getting the ingredients to make your own beeswax and coconut oil lip balm. Its such a simple DIY beauty item and you get so much more for your money because you can make many containers of lip balm.

However, if you would rather get your lip balm with the click of a button you can easily order this set from Sky Organics. Like our DIY recipe it is made with beeswax, plus, you get 6 yummy flavors.

I would also love to add you to my email list so you get all the good stuff straight to your inbox!
