If you are a DIYer like me you likely have an excess of craft supplies, paints, and scrap fabric that could last for endless project days. So what do you do with it? You don’t want to throw it out, you know, just in case. However its been sitting in that closest forever. Well, here is one tutorial that is quick, easy, and something you can use on a daily basis. Follow these few steps for making scrap fabric reusable make-up pads in no time flat. Plus, I’m including a make-up remover recipe that you can mix up at home.

Practical & Frugal Scrap Fabric Make-Up Pads
I have been using scrap fabric make-up remover pads for years. I got tired of constantly buying the disposable cotton ones and knew I had a mountain of fabric scraps that I could dig into and put to use.
Initially, I made a set of 10 and replaced my disposable make-up remover pads with my new scrap fabric ones. I loved them. Now I take my make-up off every night with the soft reusable pads and then toss them in the laundry when they need washing.
Follow this quick and easy tutorial to make a set for yourself. They also make a great addition to a beauty gift set.
How to Make Scrap Fabric Make-Up Remover Pads
What you will need:

- Scrap fabric (I like flannel the best but fleece or terry cloth works too)
- Thread
- A small cup or circle stencil about 3” in diameter for tracing
- Fabric scissors
- Sewing machine
Step #1: Choose your scrap fabric.

Gather a few pieces of extra scrap fabric. You can make your pads out of the same fabric for a matching set or mix and match with different colors and/or prints depending on what you have on hand.
Step 2: Cut your fabric:

Using a small cup or a homemade circular stencil trace a circle pattern onto your fabric. You will need two circles per pad. I simply fold my fabric in half and cut them out at the same time.

With your fabric scissors, cut out all of the circles you need to make your set.
Step #3: Sew with right side in.

Take two of your circles and put them together with the right sides facing in.

Then, sew around the edge but be sure to leave a small opening. This will allow you to flip it right side out.
Trim the edges of necessary.
Step #4: Sew your top stitch.

Through the small opening you left, flip your pad right side out.

Then sew a top stitch on just the part you left open (or see glue option below).

If you prefer not to have a stitch on the top you can use a small dotting of fabric glue to seal the opening instead.

Repeat the steps for each make-up pad until you have a full set. Now, let’s mix up some DIY make-up remover you can use with them.
