If you haven’t noticed I’m a little obsessed with pom-pom ball crafts lately. They are so easy and fun to make. So it’s no surprise that I bring you this pom-pom garland tutorial. Not only do I love the fact that you can make them in any color and combination, for example check out the LED light pom-pom garland below, but they do something special for your home decor. Read more to find out what that is and how to make one for yourself. Trust us, it’s super easy!

Decorating with a Pom-Pom Garland
Decorating your home is all about adding your own personal touch to your favorite style. So, if you are a creative, like me, even if you are just a beginner, you like to incorporate decor pieces that you have made or had an influence on.

Pom-pom garlands are an easy way to do just that because there are so many ways to vary them and make them different. For example, you can use different:
- colors or color combinations of yarn
- yarn types
- ways to string them together
But one other thing that a pom-pom garland does for your decor is adds texture to make a room feel warm and relaxed.
Placing Your Pom-Pom Garland
Some areas you can display your pom-pom garland are:
- Your mantle
- Stair railing
- Over a large picture frame
- Strung on a wall
- On a console table

Pom-Pom Garland Tutorial
Step #1: Make your pom-pom balls.

Get yourself a pom-pom maker, they come in a set of 4 sizes, are inexpensive, and make the best pom-poms.
Then head on over to see my guide on making your pom-pom balls in just a few easy steps.
You can make all of your pom-poms the same size or combined different sizes on the same garland.
Step #2: Measure and cut your garland strand.

Decide what length you want your garland and cut your strand of whatever material you are using accordingly.
Be sure to measure twice and cut once (a lesson my husband reminds me of often).
Some materials you can use as your strand are:
- Yarn, either a single strand or braided
- Twine
- Cording
- LED wire lights (my favorite:pictured below)
- Ribbon
- Tulle
You can also add large beads, pine cones, or other items and string them in between your pom-poms.
Step #3: Tie on your pom-poms

Lay out your strand on the floor. Then arrange your pom-poms by placing them in the order and spacing of your preference.

Once your pom-poms are set the way you like them you can begin to tie them onto your strand.
I like to start in the middle and work my way out but you can use whatever process that works best for you.

Finally, after all of your pom-poms have been tied you can trim the long yarn pieces so that they blend in with the rest of the pom-pom.

And that’s a wrap! I’d love to see or hear about your creations. Leave a comment below and happy pom-pom creating!
